Informal & Open Environment: This is a great chance to network and seek advice from the research community.
Free Webinar: Fundamentals of Fiber Photometry - From Theory to Troubleshooting
We invite you to join our upcoming webinar, “Fundamentals of Fiber Photometry” with Dr. Olivia Hon, Staff Scientist at MBF Bioscience.
Fiber photometry is a powerful and increasingly essential technique for recording neural activity in vivo—but collecting meaningful, reproducible data requires more than just the right hardware. This webinar will provide the foundational concepts and practical guidance you need to design and execute successful experiments. In this session, you’ll learn:
The scientific background and core principles of fiber photometry
What fiber photometry can—and can’t—reliably measure
How to choose the right biosensors based on your experimental g goals
Key experimental design considerations, including proper controls and signal interpretation
Common pitfalls and practical troubleshooting tips to help you collect robust and reproducible data
Whether you’re new to fiber photometry or looking to refine your approach, this session will offer valuable insights and real-world guidance to help you get the most out of your experiments.
Please feel free to submit your questions in advance of the webinar. If you are unable to attend the live session, we encourage you to register to receive a recording of the presentation.
International Virtual Workshop on Confocal Microscopy and Stereology Date: May 12-16, 2025
Description: This workshop is presented by Dr. Peterson. This workshop will provide intensive, practical training in the cutting-edge technologies of confocal microscopy and quantitative histology using design-based stereology. Discussions follow each topic and there is individual post-workshop project consultation.
Dr. Peterson is an internationally respected expert in the application of stereological principles in the areas of neuroscience and stem cell research. He is a Professor and Director of the Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Dr. Peterson is the President of NeuroRenew, Inc., and serves as the course convenor and primary lecturer for the international workshops.
Who Should Attend
Graduate students who need to use modern microscopy or stereology in their projects
Postdoctoral fellows who would benefit from a comprehensive introduction to microscopy and stereology
Young investigators who need to incorporate these analytical approaches into their labs
Investigators new to histological analysis who need a rapid and complete introduction to these techniques
Please note that MBF Bioscience only recommends courses and workshops taught by capable and qualified instructors with no commercial affiliations.
